pearl earrings

Wearing jewelry is a form of human expression of wealth. That is why aside from wearing it as adornment, jewelry lovers also consider it as an investment. It is not unusual for mothers to collect jewelry so that she has something to leave behind for her daughters. She knows that the value of what she buys now will multiply in the years to come. She is probably thinking that if she buys a well set pair of pearl earrings today, it will be of very much higher value when it is time for her daughter to wear it.
My thinking on this right now is that jewelry can only be considered an investment if you hoard lots of it and have the intention of selling them in the future. What actually happens is that you buy jewelry with unique designs and quality craftsmanship; you fall in love with it and can’t bear to part with it. So it stays in your box waiting for the right time to dispose of it. I think that time will never come. You might as well consider it a family heirloom that you can pass on to your children later on.
